What You Should Know About Crow's Feet And Botox

Crow's Feet can often be seen on people as they are aging. As we get older, the number of wrinkles and lines often increase on the face and start getting more noticeable. Usually, the lines are most apparent at the sides of the mouth and in the corner of the eyes since these muscles are used while smiling, frowning and other facial expressions. The lines which spread out from the corner of the eyes are referred to as Crow's Feet. Not surprisingly, most people do not like these lines as they can make a person look older. The Main CausesThe major reason for these lines is because the fat which is usually present under the skin starts to reduce as a person grows older and so the skin cannot stretch properly due to lack of fat, which makes the skin wrinkle. Other reasons which have also been found to cause Crow's Feet include prolonged exposure to the sun and sleeping on one's side. Sleeping on one's side puts more pressure on the facial tissue and fat while tanning in the sun makes the lines and wrinkles look lighter against the tan. Anti-aging creams are commonly used to tackle this problem but they prove to be a very temporary remedy and they are not always effective. This is why a lot of people have started turning to Botox.

How Botox HelpsBotox is a chemical which is formed as a by-product of Clostridium Botulinum. All that needs to be done is to inject a small amount of Botox directly into the muscles and your wrinkles and lines will be noticeably reduced. The effects are almost immediate and you will only have a mild swelling for a day or so after the procedure. The effects of Botox can often last up to 6 whole months, though the results may vary depending on your skin, age etc.How does this procedure work? When the Botox is injected, it blocks the neural pathways which otherwise exist between the nerves and the muscle in that particular part of the body. This makes those muscles relax and they do not respond to other movements. So, for example, in order to get rid of Crow's Feet, the Botox will be injected near the area with wrinkles, next to the eyes and so, whenever a person smiles, the muscle near the eye will not contract along with the mouth. The entire procedure is usually risk free and it is a lot more effective than most of the other options currently available in the market.
