Cellulite is in fact a very common physical condition that affects women and is constantly being talked about in fitness magazines, blogs, and forums. Pretty much everywhere you look there are companies selling different methods of cellulite reduction. This includes everything from lotions and creams, scrub brushes, laser, surgery, and many more. This can often lead women to question the validity of many common methods of how to get rid of cellulite.Furthermore, a lot of women want to know that the methods they are using are all-natural, as opposed to doing more invasive procedures such as surgery, lasers, and applying medicinal creams. Here are 5 misconceptions and myths regarding cellulite reduction:1. Cellulite creams, potions, and lotions are the best treatment option. This is not true, once you understand what cellulite actually is. Creams and gels that can be applied to the skin only help the skin and blood flow, as opposed to the muscle fibers that are affected.2. Cellulite is Genetic. This is also false. Yes, some women who have cellulite will have daughters that have cellulite. However, many women with cellulite will have mothers that do not have cellulite, and vice versa. The truth is that many of these women have not found a sure-fire method of how to get rid of cellulite - so it is easier to make excuses and blame their family history!
3. The best way to remove cellulite is by visiting a med spa or surgical center. Since many women do not have the patience to see the proper treatment through from start to finish, many are looking for a fast fix. But just like with other medical surgeries, unless you change the habits, the problem will usually come back. Plus, surgery is very invasive and has many side effects including scarring and saggy skin issues.4. I'm too old to get rid of my cellulite. Many women, regardless of age, have the ability to minimize and eliminate cellulite. As long as the proper movements and exercises are done, the results can be experienced by women of all ages.5. Exercise just doesn't work! Hold on there, ladies! YES, exercise does work - IF you are doing the right exercises. In fact, most women do not know the correct exercises to do to help get rid of cellulite. Not to mention that many fitness instructors do not much about these exercise methods either!

Skin Rash Treatment - 5 Ideas to Relieve Discomfort and Speed Up Healing!
Today I'm going to share with you skin rash treatment involving alternative medicines. Just like people rashes come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. They could be dry, red, bumpy, blisters, pimples, scaly and may be caused by many different things. The best treatment when it comes to a rash is not to get it in the first place. If a bug causes it you could put on repellent before going outside. If you are allergic to something then removing what your body doesn't like is going to be a good idea. There is one universal rule when it comes to a rash and do you know what that is? It is something you want to do, but you know you shouldn't and did you get the answer? You should not scratch a rash, even though you may want to. The reason you shouldn't scratch it is because it could take longer to heal and you could increase the chance of an infection and scarring. One idea to treat irritation on the skin would be to apply something cold to the irritation. The reason this may help is because it can slow the signals nerves are sending out. If the area becomes numb then you should stop applying this cold remedy, you don't want the cold to restrict blood flow because blood helps with the healing. Another inexpensive remedy that is popular for this health problem is aloe vera. How it helps is it also contains anti-inflammatory ingredients and this not only helps with the pain and discomfort, but also with the healing of the skin. Aloe vera can temporarily impair the nerves responsible for the body's immune reaction, as well as reduce allergic reactions.
If you visit a doctor depending on what is causing the skin rash you could be prescribed anti-histamine medicine. Histamine is a hormone and what it does is tell blood vessels on the skin to get bigger causing a skin rash. Anti-histamine medicine can be expensive, give off negative side effects as well as free radicals. Another choice when it comes to reducing histamine would be something called bee pollen. To sum everything up the leading skin rash treatment is.. Not to get the rash in the first place by identifying what is causing it and eliminating that from your life.
Next a person should not itch a rash because it usually will make things worse.
To help with the discomfort a person could apply something cold to the skin.
Aloe vera can help.
Anti-histamine medicine or a bee pollen supplements also can help.

Why Sunscreen Is Terrible for Health
Does sunscreen cause breast cancer? In a capitalistic society, the purpose of medications (drugs) is to make money. Usually it requires people to have a health problem so that they need to buy a drug. But now they have 2 groups of drugs that are for healthy people. This means more profits. One of these groups of drugs are vaccines. The other group is sunscreen.According to Wikipedia, sunscreens contain many untested chemicals like padimate O, cinoxate, dioxybenzone, oxybenzone, homosalate, menthyl anthranilate, octyl salicylate, trolamine salicylate, avobenzone and titanium dioxide. Some sunscreen ingredients that include oxybenzone, benzophenone, octocrylene, octyl methoxycinnamate, diisopropyl adipate, retinoic acid and retinyl palmitate may be potentially carcinogenic (cancer causing) according to Wikipedia. So you are paying these drug companies to test out these chemicals for them. Wikipedia also says that some sunscreen ingredients generate reactive oxygen species when they are exposed to UV-A. This can increase carbonyl formation in albumin and damage DNA. Damage to your DNA not only hurts you but also hurts your descendants. Sunscreen also blocks out the UV-B light that creates vitamin D in your body. The highest paid model in the world is Gisele Bündchen. She does not use sunscreen and she calls it poison. Vitamin D is not a vitamin since the body cannot create a vitamin by definition. But the body can create vitamin D when the skin gets UV-B light. According to PubMed, vitamin D is a neurosteroid hormone. Psychology Today has an article saying that the increasing rates of depression among people is due to sunscreen. This is because of the reduction of vitamin D.Have you ever heard of a vitamin curing a disease? Scurvy is a disease that killed over a million people. It was cured with vitamin C. Rickets is a terrible bone disease that was affecting 90% of the children in North America and Europe. But the children in South America and Africa were not having a problem with it. While researching a cure for rickets, they discovered vitamin D and that was the cure for rickets.
So dermatologists want us to believe that sunlight is healthy for all these animals on the planet but God or nature decided to punish humans by making sunlight bad for them. There is a video on YouTube called "Would God Get It Wrong? The truth about the sun." On it a dermatologist is before God and trying to get into heaven. God says to him; "You're saying that sunlight, which I created to keep you alive, give you vitamin D and make you feel good, is deadly? And the millions of dollars that you receive from chemical sunscreen companies have nothing to do with your blasphemy."God then gives him SPF 1,000 and says "You will need that where you are going." Then the guy drops down into hell. Then God says "Vitamin D deficiency can be hell. Get some sunlight. God did not get it wrong." Here is the article mentioned above by Psychology Today, Vitamin D Deficiency and Depression. http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/reading-between-the-headlines/201307/vitamin-d-deficiency-and-depressionAs far as sunscreen preventing sunburn, that is why you were given common sense. You do not stay out in the sunlight too long if you are pale. If you want to stay out in the sunlight a long time like I do, then get enough sunlight to get a nice tan so you will not get sunburn. Also these same companies that get billions of dollars for sunscreen or sunblock also got billions of dollars for suntan lotion that they claimed would make it so you got suntan instead of sunburn.Vitamin D has been tested extensively and it has been found to help increase bone density, cure rickets, prevent colds and the flu, help cardiovascular health, prevent autism, prevent type 1 and type 2 diabetes, help multiple sclerosis and much more. Moores Cancer Center proposes that cancer is caused by a lack of vitamin D. Doctor of Public Health, Cedric Garland says that enough vitamin D (lifeguard levels) will virtually eradicate breast cancer.

Get Rid of Cellulite, Burn Fat and Lose Weight Incorporating These Five Simple Things Daily
I just do not like the word 'diet'! It not only leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but it really gives us false hopes about achieving the healthy, smooth and firm body that we so desire.Whether my clients are trying to get rid of cellulite, lose weight, lose inches, lower their cholesterol or just get rid of their extra 'fluff' on their belly, hips and thighs... diet is not part of our vocabulary. For my clients, and I am sure for you, like me, whenever we think we need to go on a diet, our willpower to stay on one walks completely out the door! All of a sudden you start to crave things that you wouldn't even normally eat... it is absolutely the most crazy thing.Instead of a diet or dieting let's start to think about a healthy lifestyle... eating whatever you want and still achieving your desired weight and body image.Whether you are looking to get rid of cellulite, lose weight, or just feel more energized; here are five things that I always recommend to my clients after any type of body treatment they receive that will help them to maintain the results.Start your day off with hot lemon water (8 oz. hot water with the juice of ½ fresh squeezed lemon) or at least 2 cups of water before eating or drinking anything upon rising. This will help to flush the liver, as it has been at rest all night. Also, your body becomes a bit dehydrated after a long night of rejuvenating itself!Do not skip breakfast! Consume at least 25 grams of protein. It is best to eat your first meal about 30 minutes upon rising.
Eat soup! Every day eat at least one big bowl of soup. It really doesn't matter what kind (just not the very rich with heavy cream kind if you are watching your calorie intake) as long as it is filled with lots of vegetables and low in sodium. Soup not only will fill you up, but also gives you the added benefit of extra fluids. Eat it as a complete meal or start off your lunch and dinner with a cup of soup.Chew your food at least 20 times! Sounds kind of funny to be counting each chew every time you put something into your mouth, but by doing so you are doing two very important things.Your body will notice when you are full instead of after you ate too much and feel overly full.
Your body is better able to digest the food, helping it makes it way through and out of your body.Hydrate! Be sure to drink at least half your weight in water each day (green or white tea count). So if you weigh 150 lbs. you will need to consume at least 75 ounces of water each day... more if you are exerting yourself through exercise, yard work, house work or if it very hot outside. These five small and simple things that you can do every day will certainly bring big changes into your healthy lifestyle by helping you to lose or control your weight, get rid of cellulite, rev up your metabolism and give you energy.Getting rid of the word diet or dieting will actually help you to better achieve your personal body goals.

3 Tips For Choosing a Facial Cleanser for Oily Skin
When it comes to caring for oily skin, cleansing is the most important step. While there are a number of facial cleansers that claim to have the ability to put oily skin under control, get rid of oily skin and many other ridiculous claims, studies show that oil production can only be triggered by hormones and therefore no product can get rid of oily skin unless it is addressing the hormonal issue. That said, it is important for people with oily skin to be aware of such fallacies when going out to shop for a cleanser that works. This article discusses three things you need to know before you buy a cleanser for your oily skin:A good cleanser for oily skin should be water soluble. A water soluble cleanser can be washed off easily leaving the skin clean. It is therefore advisable to avoid using bar soap and thick liquid cleansers on your face as this causes clogged pores. Clogged pores are a major cause of pimples which is another issue that many people with oily skin deal with.
Avoid cleansers with irritants. Irritants include menthol, and some plant extracts like mint, citrus juices, cinnamon and lavender. While these extracts are added to cleansers to give that tingling feeling, they are not good for people with oily skin as they may trigger excess oil production and cause pimples. Before selecting a cleanser, scan through the ingredients used to produce that cleanser. Most people will only read the product description and buy a product based on the description, forgetting that the product description is only used for marketing purposes and that what is in the product is essentially what matters most. Avoid any cleanser with the above mentioned irritants as well as products with alcohol and sulfur which lead to excess oil production.
Be cautious when selecting a cleanser that has a facial scrub. Facial scrub is necessary for getting rid of dead skin and opening clogged pores due to the excess oil being produced by your glands. However, be very cautious when buying an all in one cleanser, because excessive scrubbing of your face is another form of skin irritation which as discussed above, may cause production of excess oil and pimples. Using a clean wash cloth with a gentle water soluble cleanser can accomplish the goal of cleansing your face thoroughly without causing irritation. Scrubbing should be done once or twice a week to avoid irritating your skin daily and disrupting the ability of your skin to heal.
Choosing the right facial cleanser for your oily skin should not be a hard task when you already know what to avoid. If you ensure that your facial cleanser is water soluble, does not contain irritants and does not disrupt the normal healing process of the skin on your face, you can easily eliminate half of the products on the cosmetic shelve and remain with a selection of few good facial cleansers that can be good for your skin. With the few cleansers left to choose from, it becomes a matter of preference, bearing in mind that expensive does not always mean good quality.

How To Prevent Stretch Marks Appearing On Your Body
The idea of prevention of stretch marks is still a topic of debate. Since there is a limit for the elasticity of skin, enormous stretching for a long time results in stretch marks. In case of pregnancy the abdominal wall has to keep stretching for a prolonged period to accommodate the enlarging uterus, and hence stretch marks during pregnancy are the most common among all types. However some preventive measures help to reduce the severity. But one thing is clear; prevention of stretch marks is much easier than its treatment. However in the market, there are wide ranges of products available which are supposed to prevent stretch marks when applied on the skin throughout pregnancy. But most of the products have not been scientifically proved so far; yet people spend a lot of money. There are some general guidelines to be followed by every person to prevent stretch marks.1. Balanced diet: Balanced diet is most essential for the skin to maintain its quality. The diet should contain adequate amounts of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, lipids, minerals etc. Most important among them are proteins, vitamins like A, C, E, K and Zinc.Proteins: Main sources are meat, fish, egg, soybeans nuts etc.Vitamins: Among vitamins the most important are Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and vitamin K.Vitamin A: Sources are Carrots, Vegetables, Rice, Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Apricot, Spinach, Mango etc.Vitamin C: Sources are Citrus fruits, Guava, Papaya, Strawberries etc.Vitamin E: Sources are Almonds, Vegetable oils, Seeds, Sunflower, Oats, Peaches, Avocado etc.Vitamin K: Green leafy vegetables, Cabbage, Liver, Milk products etc.Zinc: Zinc is very essential for the formation of collagen. Mostly found in nuts, bananas, raisins, legumes and fish.2. Water intake: Adequate amount of water should be taken every day to maintain the water balance of the body. When the skin becomes dry it is prone to stretch marks.
3. Controlled weight gain: Sudden increase in the body size is the main cause for stretch marks. Hence a controlled weight gain can reduce the chance greatly.4. Exercise & relaxation techniques: Regular exercise and relaxation techniques can increase the blood supply to the skin and keep it intact. Exercise also helps to maintain the tone of muscles to prevent a big belly. It also helps to prevent excess of fat deposition. Exercise should be done regularly in a gentle manner. Rigorous exercise can be harmful and hence aerobic exercises are much useful for ordinary people. Similarly, walking, swimming, meditation, yoga, etc also help.5. Habits: Avoid junk foods, over eating, tobacco, alcohol and excess use of steroids.6. Life style: A healthy life style should be maintained.7. Sleep: Sound sleep is very essential for the maintenance of good health. However, sleeping with snoring should be avoided.8. External applications: These are not 100% effective. External application of cocoa butter, olive oil, almond oil, fish oil, lavender oil, aloe vera extract etc during pregnancy and controlled weight gain are useful. Similarly ointments containing Vitamin A & E are also widely used with some benefits.9. Milk bath: Milk is a major ingredient in a few cosmetic creams due to its skin softening properties. In this method the entire body is soaked in a bathtub containing a cup of skimmed milk powder and sufficient quantity of water. By repeating this procedure the skin becomes soft and elastic. This method may be utilized as a preventive and curative method for stretch marks. Use of soap is contraindicated while having a milk bath.

Know Your Skin-Lightening Creams
Even though hyperpigmentation is one of the most common skin conditions, it is difficult to completely wipe away from the skin. This often has a negative impact on one's psychological well-being. That is why the R&D labs in major cosmeceutical companies are working constantly to come up with creams and serums rich in innovative actives that prevent pigmentation.Pigmentation takes place when skin starts to darken due to an increase in melanin in a specific area of the skin. This is often aggravated by sun's UV rays. So the first cream that you must own to prevent pigmentation is a broad spectrum sunscreen with at least 25 SPF. Look for lotions that have physical as well as chemical sunscreens. If the label shows titanium dioxide, or zinc oxide, then it is the best lotion to pick up as your first defence against tanning and brown patches. In fact the topical skin lightening creams work better when working under a sunscreen. The topical skin lightening creams are often prescribed by dermatologists to deal with the first level of hyperpigmentation. It is used to treat many types of skin pigmentation, includingmelasma, freckles, sunspots, under eye dark circles, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation etc.Effect on skin of topical creamsTopical lightening agents are creams or serums used on the skin to help lighten skin and deal with skin pigmentation issues. Dermatologists often prescribe these products in conjunction with in-clinic hyper pigmentation treatments like laser and peels. The anti-pigmentation creams are gentler on skin, and work by inhibiting the enzymes that produce melanin. The actives also stimulate faster skin turnover, thus revealing fresher skin layer and clearing our extra pigments sitting under the epidermis. While, skin lightening creams do not completely remove pigmentation. However, they do significantly lighten it. That is why dermatologists also often prescribe topical skin lightening creams to prepare the skin for laser treatments, and peels. This reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation especially for women with duskier skin tone.Top ingredients in anti-pigmentation creamsSome of the popular skin-lightening actives that the dermatologists like to prescribe include:Hydroquinone: It has been the most well-known treatment for hyperpigmentation for decades, but now-a-days more and more doctors as well as patients prefer to us natural-based product that they feel are less irritating to the skin.
Kojic Acid: An antioxidant derived from a fungus. It works by breaking down melanin in the skin. Meanwhile it also prevents the production of melanin in the skin. It is found in cosmeceuticals in 1% to 4% concentrations either combined with other skin-lightening agents.Licorice: There are a number of different licorice extracts derived from licorice root. It is an OTC ointment that is often prescribed to lighten sensitive areas like the under eye skin.Niacinimide: A form of vitamin B3 that acts by inhibiting the transfer of melanosomes into the epidermis of the skin. It is popularly used in many cosmeceuticals for its skin lightening effects. It also prevents additional pigment from coming to the surface of the skin.Soy: Derived from the soybean plant, it is one of the most commonly used skin-lightening ingredients in moisturizers. The active works by inhibiting the transfer of melanosomes into the top layer of the skin. Great for sensitive or easily irritated skin.Vitamin C- Topical vitamin C as L-ascorbic acid also helps interfere with pigment production. An additional benefit of vitamin C is the anti-oxidant effect it has, so it will help prevent skin from environmental damage.Glycolic acid - It is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that can have a dis-cohesive effect on the epidermis, or top layer of skin, to help exfoliate the pigmented skin cells. By doing so, it speeds skin turnover and pigment is lost more rapidly.Retinoids - Retinoids are derived from vitamin A. Retinoids work in a number of ways to help reduce pigmentation. It removes patches by inhibiting enzymes causing pigmentation. It also accelerates skin turnover to help pigmented skin cells shed more quickly.Ellagic Acid:Natural substance derived from strawberries, cherries, and pomegranates. Works as an antioxidant and also inhibits an enzyme needed for melanin production.Lignin Peroxidase: It is an enzyme that comes from a fungus found in wood pulp and can break down melanin in the skin.Arbutin: It is a natural derivative of hydroquinone derived from plants. Popular berries like bearberry, blueberry, and cranberry are the main source of arbutin. 6 Ways to Reduce Cellulite
Cellulite relates to the build up of fat deposits just beneath the surface of the skin in areas such as the lower pelvic region and abdomen. Cellulite appears for a variety of reasons, including genetic predisposition, age, lifestyle choices, poor diet, and hormonal reasons. A common denominator that plays a major factor in the formation of cellulite is toxicity in the body. But, with the right changes to the diet and lifestyle, it is possible to lessen the appearance of cellulite on the thighs or other areas. Here are six ways to reduce the appearance of this skin complaint:AntioxidantsAdd antioxidant-rich sources of food to the daily diet, such as citrus fruits, orange and red fruits and vegetables, and berries (acai or similar). Antioxidants are highly effective at fighting free radicals, which is a leading contributing factor related to cellulite formation and damage to the skin cells.ExerciseA regular exercise routine is critical. Exercise offers a variety of benefits, from increasing muscle tone to boosting circulation and reducing fat under the skin. Being active also helps with improving lymphatic drainage to help with clearing toxins in the cells.Green TeaA regular intake of green tea (up to three cups per day) is certain to help with reducing the outward signs of cellulite. Green tea is loaded with antioxidants to help fight against free radical damage. Also, this refreshing drink is great for assisting with weight loss and ability to increase energy expenditure.
Healthy fatsCut saturated fats from the diet and replace with health fats that are rich in omega-3, such as nuts, fish oils, flax seeds, and oily fish. Healthy fats help to enhance blood circulation, which is necessary to ensure nutrients are able to reach the skin cells. Poor circulation can lead to a lack of nutrients reaching the skin and the formation of the cellulite related problems.MassageA vigorous massage using a cellulite massager can help to reduce excessive amounts of fluid, remove toxins, and increase blood circulation in the areas of the body that are showing the outward signs of cellulite. It isn't possible to remove cellulite entirely using massage, but it is certain to help with improving the appearance.ToxinsLimit the intake of toxins that have a negative impact on cellulite formation and those that affect the dermis. Toxins to avoid include heavily processed foods (chemical additives and high sugar), coffee, alcohol, and tobacco. Also, make sure to consume the recommended 8-12 glasses of water daily to help regularly flush toxins from the system.

Get Rosacea Treatment and Clear Your Skin
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that turns your facial skin red, and can also cause swelling and skin sores that appear to be acne. This skin condition is quite common amongst the general population, and it is very treatable as well.Modern rosacea treatment has utilized the IPL Photo-Facial technique for alleviating symptoms of the disease. The IPL technique is a non-ablative procedure designed to eliminate age spots, acne scars, sun damage, and general redness. This procedure is safe to use anywhere on the human body, but generally it is used only on the face, neck, shoulders, hands, and chest of the patients. The IPL Photo-Facial technique is utilized in rosacea treatments to battle a patients unwanted red and brown complexion spots. These spots dull the complexion and over time compound upon one another to create an aged appearance. You may be wondering how photo waves could possibly be of aid in rosacea treatment, but it works. The wavelength spectrum of the IPL method targets the tiny pockets of undesirable red or brown pigment in the skin. As these pockets absorb the light wavelengths, hemoglobin (red) and melatonin (brown), they become heated and waste, or basically the cells are killed and left for dead. The dead cells are then removed by the body's natural processes of cell replication. These dead cells then get replaced by new rejuvenated skin cells, providing the patient with a more youthful and clearer complexion.
The IPL Photo-Facial method is the only wavelength technique that has garnered FDA clearance. The advanced cooling system of the technique is designed to keep the temperature of the machine down. This has a two-pronged benefit, it not only keeps the temperature of the patient's skin down, but it also minimizes the patient's discomfort during the procedure. You no longer have to suffer from your rosacea or other skin discomforts like spider veins. IPL skin rejuvenation treatment is completely effective. The intense pulses of wavelengths cause thermal damage to the vessel walls of your damaged skin. These damaged blood vessels are then simply absorbed back into your body as a part of your natural healing process. What is left in its place is nothing but clear skin.IPL rosacea treatment is so effective that post-treatment you will no longer have to use your rosacea facial creams. These products seldom are effective, and most of the time you waste years of your life and a lot of money buying and applying these two-bit products. Look into IPL Photo-Facial treatment today, and say goodbye to your red, irritated, dull skin.

The Acidic Touch and Acne
Only an ugly, worrisome skin condition like acne would prompt someone to put acid on their face. Just look what happens when you dip metal into acid or allow it to corrode something. Acid is a violent chemical that only trained professionals should come in contact with. That is, until you create a weak concentration and turn it into an acne-fighting concoction. Viola, acne medicines with acid. Then we line up around the block to buy the latest treatment.Unless you work with chemicals, odds are that you have a few misconceptions about acid. First and foremost, there are thousands of different types of acids. There are even dozens of different types of acid used to fight acne. These range from weaker acids that help tone the skin, to stronger acids that eat away at scar tissue. But before you go breaking apart your remote's double-A batteries to rub some acid on your face, let's go over some of the most common acne-fighting acids.Different Types of Acid for Acne Salicylic AcidIn almost every Internet article you read, including ours, salicylic acid is the number-one acid for fighting acne. Acne medications with acid typically tend to mix things up, but salicylic acid is found inside most topical treatments. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid and it is quite strong. The best thing about it is that it works under the surface as opposed to on the top of the skin. This acid penetrates deep into the skin to help get rid of acne. However, it is best used to treat mild or moderate acne. More serious types of acne, wont benefit from Salicylic acid. Citric AcidThis type of acid is famous in home remedies, and although it acts very similarly to another acid on this list, it is actually a lot weaker. It's used primarily as a preservative and flavor agent. When combined with proper skincare measures, the citric acid from lemons, limes, pineapples and other fruits can help exfoliate the skin and clean deep in the pores. A tip to remember for acne product consumers: If you're going to spend money on a product with acid, don't opt for citric acid. Go with a stronger acid and just buy a lemon for a few cents.
Fusidic AcidAlthough it's called an acid, Fusidic acid isn't like the rest. It's actually a bacteriostatic antibiotic used in topical creams and eye-drops. People have a lot of success with Fusidic acid when fighting mild to moderate acne. But, becuase its an antibiotic, you're not going to find it in OTC ointments and creams. Glycolic AcidGlycolic acid is like citric acid but stronger. For mild to moderate acne, this alpha hydroxy acid can get the job done. Glycolic acid works from the outside in. It is generally used for resurfacing, exfoliation, and treating acne on the skins surface. That isn't to say that it won't help kill bacteria, but its greatest strength lies in getting rid of scar tissue and dead skin cells.Azelaic AcidThis particular type of acid is unique. It is a saturated dicarboxylic acid, which means, it's very gentle on the surface of the skin but eats through bacteria like Pac-Man. This acid is safe to use when fighting bacteria and the spread of acne, but don't want to deal with dry, cracked, irritated, itchy skin. There are certainly stronger acids out there, but for mild to moderate acne, Azelaic acid has a lot of advantages.Pantothenic AcidJust another way to say Vitamin B5, pantothenic acid is similar to a fatty acid in the way it works. B5 works from the inside out, helping to strengthen the body's immune system and balance hormones. Although there isn't a mountain of evidence for this acid, no one can argue against a healthy lifestyle as a great acne-fighting tool. Acne medicines with acid in them are a dime a dozen. When you're shopping for something to help with your acne, remember this information. Gentle, strong, or simple, you can find an acid that's right for you.
